52 year old Ed Parker hails from Urbandale Iowa. He's a computer analyst with Iowa Communications Network, an agency of the state of Iowa. Ed has been married to wife Rhonda for 33 years. Kids Jason, Ryan and Heather are all grown and married. Ed has been a member since 1995. In 1996 he experienced his first century, a ride from Newton to Amana. "Food never tasted so good as at the Amana restaurant after a long day of riding". He did 5 centuries that year and the club gave him a plaque. In 2006, he repeated that feat. Bikes include an old 10 speed Schwinn and a Cannondale Cadd 3 with 21 speeds. Ed is also active in Toastmasters, Westchester E-Free church, DAMA, an association for computer professionals. In 2002,Ed was going to ride RAGBRAI for the first time.8 miles into the ride he fell. Friends made a sling for his arm and he rode in to Orange city to be treated. An hour of treatment at the hospital and he was back on the road. He continued to get closer to Marshalltown so wife, Rhonda could take him home. He ended up riding 4 half days and one full day of RAGBRAI that year. Ed rode 6 days in 2003 and the entire route in 2006, with IVBC.
