Iowa Valley Bike Club

The Iowa Valley Bicycle Club (IVBC of Marshalltown) was formed in 1974 to promote recreational bicycling and bicycle safety. From the initial mission, IVBC has been active in programs such as the bike safety rodeo program and donating helmets to children. IVBC is a community-minded club. We donate to the Red Cross, Community Y Partner With Youth, Marshalltown Floral Baskets, Youth and Shelter Services of Marshall County, Cycling for YSS, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Iowa Bicycle Coalition, Marshalltown Police Youth Helmet Program, Bikes2Share, Dairy Queen Bicycle Safety Award Program, Bike to Work Week, and work with the city working toward making Marshalltown "a bicycle friendly community". Through donations it has also aided in the development of the Marshalltown Bike Path and the Discovery America Trail.

Anyone interested in donating an adult bike to IVBC for our new Bikes2Share program can Ken Lyons or Sherry Kubalsky (both in the phone book I believe). The program donates bikes to adults in the community who need them for transportation and who are unable to purchase their own bikes. So far, we've given away over 50 bikes!
